Website Updates - Sat, Sep 4th, 2010 If you really want to know who we are and what we can do for hair loss, please read through our testimonials. We now have over 100 testimonials written in the past 18 months. The stories are truly amazing....even for Mitchell, Maria and I.
Speaking of Mitchell, he's recently been featured in a Vancouver Sun Article regarding his apprenticeship and training for our hair loss salon. We are pleased that the Vancouver Sun chose Mitchell as their subject for the story. Go to this LINK to read the article.
I want to thank you, our potential client, for visiting our site. We are by no means the largest wig, toupee or hair system supplier in British Columbia but we hope we're the nicest. Judging by the traffic to this site in from 2009 to August 2010, you're likely to either be shopping for a wig or looking for information on hair loss. I'll do my best to answer your questions and look forward to meeting you in person. One quick note on PHOTOS. Please remember the the pictures are in photo albums. If you click on the photo album you're interested in, you'll see many more pictures.
All of our hair systems in the photos have been custom designed by Maria Jaggard herself. Some of Maria's unique design elements are now being incorporated into the hair industry worldwide. She is truly on the leading edge of wig/hair system design. If you want the VERY BEST in quality, comfort, style and even price, you should visit our salon.
For obvious reasons, most of our clients don't want their photo uploaded on the internet. Conversely most people researching hair loss are most interested in "before and after photos". Many of our clients have approved "one on one" views of their before and after pics and we now have hundreds of photos which can be reviewed during the consultation so that you have a better understanding of what YOUR hair system would look like.
Hopefully, you'll be able to easily find what you're looking for. If not, then of course you can ASK BRIAN.
Maria and I enjoy this business and helping people with unique solutions to hair loss.

We have added new TESTIMONIALS from many of our clients. We keep them in a book for your inspection so that you can see that each an every one of them is a real testimonial from a real client. Click on the section at the bottom of the page to read them all.
We also have additional information available on alopecia, trichotillomania (TTM or hair pulling), male and female pattern baldness and hair loss due to chemotherapy, hormones, or other illnesses. See our HEALTH ISSUES SECTION for more information.
Of course if you've already seen your doctor and just want to DO SOMETHING NOW you can call me, Brian, at 604-534-5049. We book by appointment only and our address and a map can be found in the CONTACT US SECTION.
Although most of our clients come from the North Shore, Fraser Valley and Vancouver, we have many out of town clients who visit us from Seattle, Alberta, Kamloops, Prince George, and Vancouver Island. When you see the beautiful work Maria does with hair systems, you'll understand why our clients make the trip.
I have also updated the PHOTO SECTION so be sure to check it out. We have examples of hair loss conditions such as alopecia and chemotherapy.
Ready for an appointment? Call now for a FREE CONSULTATION
There really is NO CATCH to a free consultation. Even if you choose not to order at that time, you'll come away with a good knowledge on what you should be looking for.
Here is another testimonial:
Since getting my system back in September, I have had so many compliments on my hair. People notice me now + after being married for 10 years + after 3 kids I'm suddenly being picked up! LOL!!! (go to TESTIMONIALS to read the rest!)
We now have almost 100 testimonials since starting our little testimonial book last year. It's currently updated on this website to April 2010. We really appreciate clients who take the time to send us these testimonials since this business is very discreet and it's difficult for us to "get the word out" about Maria Jaggard Salon.
Question re: Alopecia and Hair Extensions - Thu, Feb 26th, 2009 Q. "Hi Brian. I have alopecia. It started as a loonie size patch and then grew to pretty much the back half and sides of my head. I have been undergoing treatment - injections, cortisone and rogain. I know it will come back, maybe not for good, some if it already has grown back and inch and a half!!! My question is, do you think I can get extensions on the new hair?
Thanks! Your web site is awesome, it looks like you guys really do some good things for people."
A. Thanks for the compliment on my website. I just launched it a couple of weeks ago and I'm interested in what you think about it.
Yes, you can get extensions on the new hair. Maria would look at it first - she's a pretty good judge of what kind of hair you have growing in. We use a totally new type of hair extension - closeups are shown on the website adn we have many more pics of clients here in our salon. They don't pull on your existing hair (which can cause traction alopecia). They're also long lasting, easy to maintian and don't leave any lumps or bumps on your head like other extensions.
We don't charge for a consultation so if you'd like to come in, just give me a call.
Regards
Brian Jaggard

I'm Using Toppick For Thinning Hair - Wed, Mar 18th, 2009 Hi - I came across your website as I was searching the web. I am a 29 year old female who used to have very thick hair. In my teens it started thinning out and now I have coarse but thin hair. My trouble spots are in the front, sides and back. I use Toppick hair fibres to conceal the thinning. I want to inquire about your services and what you might be able to do for me. Could you please let me know if there is a fee for your consultation services and and an estimate of how much is costs to take your treatment? Please and thank you. Susan
Hi Susan. We do not charge for a consultation - Maria usually books about a week in advance but we do have a couple of spots open this week. There are various "remedies" out there that we believe are mostly hoaxes - including most of the laser treatments. I say this because you used the word "treatment". Our service is to build you a custom hair system to cover your thinning areas. It is integrated within your own thinning hair and will restore your look to however you wish.
We chosse the correct curl pattern, hair density, colour and size to suit your unique needs. Maria will make a mould of your hair loss area adn our factory replicates the shape of your head. The base of the hair system is built onto this mould. This way, the system is extremely secure, undetectable and comfortable.
The systems are designed to last for 2 to 3 years and can be worn 24/7. Most of the ladies systems range from $1400 to $2200. In Vancouver these systems start at around $3000 and you could be contractually obligated to pay much more. We also include the cut-in (which some salons will charge up to $250 alone), care kit and follow up appointment. We use only the best quality materials and source factory direct. If you check out our testimonials section, you'll find out what others have to say about us. There are all REAL testimonials we keep in a book that you can look at in our shop. Mos of he photos we have are not available online for privacy reasons bt we can show you during the consultation.
I hope this information is helpful to you. The clients we have are extremely satisfied with the results. Maria is not only very good at what she does but is also a lot of fun to meet. Just give me a call and I'll book a free consultation for you. There's absolutely no pressure or obligation to buy anything.
I Have Alopecia and Live In Kamloops - Sat, Feb 14th, 2009 Dear Brian;
I have had alopecia for over 30 years and have worn a wig most of the time. I have tried one human hair wig over 20 years ago and have since worn synthetic wigs . As you can imagine it is difficult to find a place to actually try on wigs in BC. I live in Kamloops but do travel to the coast once in awhile. I am curious about your wigs/ systems. I realize they vary, but what sort of cost and timeline would I possibly expect? I would like more info before I plan a trip down.
Thank you for your time,
Absolutely all of our wigs/hair systems vary - all are custom made and unique to the person. The big difference is comfort and durability as well as the natural look. We only keep one sample on hand so you can see the quality of the hair but we usually have several on hand ready for delivery if you'd like to check them out. Maria makes a mould of your hair loss area - whether full or partial. The price depends on the area covered, the length and the density of the hair. Our systems for women typically range from $1400 to $2200 and can be expected to last for 2 or 3 years. The hair stays soft and lovely for the entire life of the hair system while after a few years the base will naturally break down (the same as a collar or sleeve of a shirt - from the body acids). The more expensive systems have very long hair. Our price is about 50% less than competitors because we don't have sales people (Maria worked for a salon where the salespeople consistently made over $100,000 per year). We also built a fully equipped, professional salon into a new home 5 years ago. It's very private and discreet. The timeline is about 6 to 8 weeks since just the hand tied hairs take 25 full days. We only use hand tied hairs since machine tied will cause damage to the hair and reduce the life of the hair system from 2 - 3 years to 4 to 6 months. If this is affordable for you, there's no better solution. Maria has been in this business for 18 years now and is not only a great technician and fantastic hairdresser (50% of the great look you'll get out of any hair system depends on the talent of the hairdresser) but she's also a genuine person and fun to be around. We are convenient to Kamloops and have several customers from there. You'll see our salon is easy to find from Highway #1. We have more information, photos and testimonials on our website. The testimonial regarding the girl getting married is from a delivery we did last night and she came up from Bellingham, USA to see us. There's no pressure to buy but we would love you to come for a consultation. I can be reached at 604-534-5049 Regards, Brian Jaggard Maria Jaggard Salon
Q. Will anyone notice the system? - Wed, Jan 21st, 2009 A. Provided you properly care for the hair system, there is no reason anyone would notice. Many of our clients have been using our systems for years and have spouses, children, co-workers, and friends unaware they wear a hair system.
Q. Will it be uncomfortable? Will I sweat? - Sat, Jan 31st, 2009 A. Much like the first time you put in contact lenses, you will definitely feel something new on you. However, in a very short time, you will feel it become a part of you. The base is "breathable" and hypo-allergenic.
Q. Does wearing a system mean I'm self-centered or vain? - Sat, Jan 31st, 2009 A. Absolutely not. Does wearing fashionable pants make you vain? Let's face it, not everyone has the perfect bald head. Some of our clients have serious medical problems or unsightly head injuries while others have ordinary pattern baldness. In the words of one of our clients "without the hair system, I was mistaken for someone 10 years older. Now I look 10 years younger - that's a 20 year age difference...I choose younger!"
Q. How does the hair system stay on? - Wed, Jan 21st, 2009 A. Depending on the system you choose, your hair loss condition and other factors, the system can be held by hair weaving, medical adhesive, bonding agent or clips.
Q. Will women/men adore me? Will I be smarter and more popular? - Sat, Jan 31st, 2009 A. Well, we can't promise the world but our clients tell us that they are treated differently when they have a full head of hair. Studies have shown people perceive hair loss sufferers as more conservative, older and less exciting (hey, we're not making this up!). Clients claim they have had better relationships, job offers and a healthier lifestyle due to their increased self-confidence and self-image.
I Want To Be Able To Swim - Mon, Feb 16th, 2009 Dear Maria Jaggard Salon
I am thinning all over my head, I do not want to wear a wig that could fall of my head.
I want to be able to swim. Would hair adding work for me? Or what would you suggest?
Thank you,
"M"
Hi "M";
Thank you for contacting us.
We do not sell "wigs" that fall off your head. We've never had a client
tell us that any of our hair systems have come off in an embarrassing
situation. Last summer, one of our clients told us that she wore her
system while riding on a Seadoo which went up to 80 km/hr on a lake. Her
sunglasses and hairband came off but her hair system stayed in place
perfectly. Our systems are made to fit only you and can be worn 24/7 or
removed whenever you like.
You need to book a consultation appointment and we can show you how it
works. There is no charge for a consultation.
Regards,
Brian Jaggard
